ISO settings are about the light sensitivity of a photograph(s). The higher the ISO, the more sensitive the chip becomes, meaning that even in dark environments you can still take photographs. However, at higher 'ISO' settings, an image is most likely to be affected by digital noise or grain... but on the flip side, this could be the desired effect. An 'ISO' of 200 is the most average daylight setting.
